Job summary

Maven Group Ltd is seeking a Functional Assessor in Aberdeen. The role involves conducting up to five client assessments daily via phone, video or in person, and producing objective reports to support the Department for Work and Pensions.

On-site Aberdeen, with hybrid/home working options and a defined salary package. Ideal candidates are NMC registered nurses or HCPC qualified therapists with at least one year post‑registration experience, excellent communication, and solid IT skills.

What is on offer as a Functional Assessor?

• Excellent starting salary at £42,000pa


• Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm working hours


• Full time and part time available (3, 4 or 5 days per week available)


• Aberdeen based when working on-site


• 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays + the ability to buy or sell 5 more days + pension

£4,000 performance related salary uplift to £46,000pa after 12 months following training and DWP Functional Assessor approval.

What does the Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day. A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their working capability. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

What we look for;

• An NMC registered nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist with 1 year’s or more broad post-registration experience
