Job summary

Maven Group Ltd in Glasgow is recruiting NMC/HCPC professionals to join as Functional Assessors. Starting salary of £42,000 per year, with a £4,000 uplift to £46,000 after 12 months, plus 25 days annual leave, 8 bank holidays, pension and buy/sell option. Hybrid/home working available; on-site in Glasgow when required.

You will conduct assessments (telephone, video or face-to-face), gather information and produce reports for DWP decisions. Strong communication and IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Registered NMC nurse or HCPC qualified professional with post-registration experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Comfortable using IT for reporting and data gathering.

Responsibilities

• Carry out 5 client assessments per day (telephone, video or face-to-face).
• Produce factual reports to support DWP benefit decisions.
• Receive thorough training and ongoing support to excel in the role.

What is on offer as a Functional Assessor?

• Excellent starting salary at £42,000pa
• Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm working hours
• Full time and part time available (3, 4 or 5 days per week available)
• Glasgow based when working on-site

£4,000 performance related salary uplift to £46,000pa after 12 months following training and DWP Functional Assessor approval.

What does the Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day. A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their working capability. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

What we look for;

• An NMC registered nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist with 1 year’s or more broad post-registration experience
• Someone who’s proactive and keen to learn
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Competent IT and computer skills
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health
