Job summary

Maven Group Ltd in Kirkcaldy is recruiting for a Functional Assessor role. NMC/HCPC professionals eligible. You will carry out client assessments by phone, video or in person and prepare reports to support DWP decisions. Excellent starting salary and clear career progression are offered.

The position offers hybrid or home working, a 9am-5pm schedule, 25 days leave plus holidays, pension, and a £4k uplift after 12 months following training and DWP approval.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) or HCPC qualified professional with post-registration experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Competent IT and computer skills.
• Able to work with a diverse range of conditions including mental health.

What is on offer as a Functional Assessor?

• Excellent starting salary at £42,000pa
• Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm working hours
• Full time and part time available (3, 4 or 5 days per week available)
• Kirkcaldy based when working on-site
• 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays + the ability to buy or sell 5 more days + pension

• NMC or HCPC fees paid for and CPD revalidation support provided

£4,000 performance related salary uplift to £46,000pa after 12 months following training and DWP Functional Assessor approval.

What does the Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day. A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their working capability. You'll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.
