Overview

Kind and easy young European family looking for a warm nurturing experienced nanny to work with their family. They are looking for a nanny‑housekeeper / family assistant as the children will be at nursery and school during the day and they would like a nanny who does not mind getting on with other tasks when the children are not around. This family does have a cleaner so that is not your main responsibility. They are looking for a nanny who fits well with them and will stay with them for years – their current nanny has been happily with them for 3 years.

This job is 5 days but initially includes weekend work. From March onwards the days shall be only Monday to Friday.

The family would like nanny to travel with them to the countryside one weekend per month and accompany them when they travel overseas.

Nanny should be gentle, caring and patient. Never speaking roughly nor treating the children roughly.

Work Schedule

Initially you will join her during the week and be alone on weekends with us.

When mum goes back to work in March / April 2026 we will shift your hours to weekdays only (Mon‑Fri) and we will find additional alternative support for weekends.

Breakdown of hours for the months until March (From March / April hours will move to full time hours during week):

  • Tuesday 1-6pm
  • Thursday 1-6pm
  • Friday 8am-7pm
  • Saturday 8am-7pm
  • Sunday 8am-7pm
Responsibilities
  • Settled Status or UK passport
  • English speaking, & Spanish if possible
  • Nanny and light housekeeping
  • All typical duties related to the children both at home and outside. Following their routine picking them up from school and taking them to and from activities or play dates depending on the work schedule. Tidying rooms, laundry, engaging in play and supporting their growth etc.
  • All light housekeeping duties. Apart from taking care of the children they have experience doing light housekeeping: cooking for the family or kids, keeping the house tidy, ironing or vacuuming, doing laundry if necessary and cleaning the bathrooms, wiping dust etc. Well need help around the house because the children don’t occupy all of the working hours but the main cleaning is done by a cleaner. It is a matter of mindset and willingness to help with other tasks rather than the main function. It would otherwise become complicated when we travel or during weekends since at those times we spend more time with the children ourselves. Flexibility is important to us. We understand it works both ways.

  • Be flexible to travel internationally (e.g. you will be required to travel with our family between 2-4 weeks throughout the year (over half term and Summer and Winter breaks). The other nanny can also travel so it’s not just relying on one person. Extra rate per night

Requirements
  • Strong ability to create a nurturing safe happy environment
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Punctual, reliable and legally able to work in the UK
  • Current valid Enhanced DBS – on the DBS update service
  • Current Paediatric First Aid certificate
  • Right to work in UK & already living in London within short commute of W8
  • Good references for recent and relevant nanny work
  • Demonstrate longevity in previous similar nanny roles (2 to 5 years in nanny jobs)
  • Able to run after small children
  • Used to shared and sole charge
  • Experienced with multiples of young children
  • Baby experience.
  • Be able to engage in play at floor level for extended periods of time and get up from the floor quickly.
  • Strictly Non smoking position.
  • Discretion and privacy is essential.
