Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in the UK is seeking an experienced Consultant in Adult Forensic Psychiatry to join the team at HMP Woodhill in Milton Keynes. The role involves providing a comprehensive mental health service, working closely with a multidisciplinary team, and conducting various clinical assessments and treatments. The ideal candidate will have specialized training and experience in forensic psychiatry, with dedication towards improving health outcomes for the patients in custody.

Qualifications

  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Approved clinician status.
  • Track record of improving quality in a service.

Responsibilities

  • Assessment, treatment, care planning and multi-agency liaison for people with mental health problems in the prisons.
  • Liaison with prisons, courts, statutory and non-statutory agencies concerning mental health care management.
  • Participation in clinical governance and contribution to clinical audit/QI processes.

Skills

Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective
Excellent knowledge in specialty
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Ability to manage conflict and difficult conversations
Willingness to be flexible and adaptable in working pattern

Education

Primary Medical Degree
CCT in Forensic
Management and leadership course/qualification
Higher degree (Msc, LLM, MD or PhD)
