Objective
We are looking for a skilled and hands‑on Working Foreman (Carpenter) to lead and work alongside our team on various domestic building projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong carpentry or general building background and experience in managing small teams, ensuring high‑quality workmanship while keeping projects on schedule. To achieve our company productivity goals through the successful delivery of projects in full, on time and in spec, in line with target cost plans and quality standards, to complete customer satisfaction.
Job Overview
- Carry out carpentry and general building tasks as part of day‑to‑day site operations
- Supervise and coordinate trades on‑site to ensure smooth workflow
- Maintain quality control and ensure work meets required standards
- Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to maintain project timelines
- Monitor site health & safety and ensure compliance with regulations
- Assist with material ordering and site logistics
- Ensure project is delivered on time and within budget
- Lead regular bi‑weekly meetings with apprentices to support their development
- Identify and resolve on‑site issues efficiently and proactively
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Continuously suggest and implement improved and new systems for the benefit of the business.
- Accountable for the successful performance and the results against target/budget.
- Has high interaction with customer to ensure that the specification is correct.
- Support the director to feedback the performance of their direct reports through monthly 121’s and appraisals.
- Plans and implements work schedules.
- Responsible for the adherence to Health and Safety on site.
- Has the ability to make quick, concise and correct decision independently.
- Must have a driving licence.
