Qualifications

Teacher of Food Technology (KS3-KS5)

Location: Secondary School, Rotherham

Contract: Temporary Long-Term (January Start)

PK Education are seeking a passionate and skilled Teacher of Food Technology to join a thriving school in Rotherham from January.

This is a long-term temporary position teaching students across KS3, KS4 and KS5.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering engaging, practical and theoretical Food Technology lessons that inspire a love of the subject.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons across KS3-KS5
  • Deliver engaging practical sessions in line with health and safety standards
  • Assess, monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Support students through GCSE and A-Level coursework and examination preparation
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to create a positive learning environment
  • Contribute to the wider life of the department, including curriculum development
  • Maintain a safe, well‑organised and hygienic food technology classroom and kitchen area
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues and parents/carers
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Specialism or strong experience in Food Technology / Food Preparation & Nutrition
  • Proven experience teaching KS3 and KS4; KS5 experience desirable
  • Strong knowledge of subject curriculum and exam requirements
  • Ability to deliver practical lessons safely and effectively
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
  • Excellent communication, organisation and behaviour management skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
