Position

Bridgewater Family Nurse Partnership is offering an exciting opportunity for a Family Nurse Supervisor to join our dedicated team, supporting family nurses across Warrington and strengthening partnership working. Warrington FNP require a part time (0.4 WTE) supervisor; we are open to job share arrangements for this post.

Location

The post holder will be based in Great Sankey Hub, WA5 3AA.

Overview

The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) is a national evidence‑based programme. The aim of the programme is to improve the antenatal health, child health and development and parents’ economic self‑sufficiency in disadvantaged young families.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead and manage a team of family nurses (FNs) and the site Quality Support Officer.
  2. Take responsibility for programme quality and adherence to the FNP licensing conditions.
  3. Facilitate continual learning and service improvement, planning for and ensuring a local learning programme for each FN, to meet their own identified learning needs and to facilitate the team‑based elements of the FNP learning programme.
  4. Use programme materials and methods in the clients’ homes in order to achieve the following:
    • improve the outcomes of pregnancy;
    • improve children’s health and development by enabling parents to provide more sensitive, responsive and competent care of them;
    • improve parental life‑course by helping parents plan future pregnancies, complete their education and find work.
  5. Provide regular in depth individual reflective and analytical supervision for the family nurses to ensure high standards of practice and safe delivery of the programme.
  6. Develop a robust local system for supporting safeguarding within FNP with the safeguarding named nurses and the FNP lead, taking responsibility for safeguarding supervision of family nurses either solely or in partnership with named nurse.
