Job summary

Environment Agency is seeking a Project Manager to lead and deliver flood risk management studies and schemes that reduce risk to communities and enhance the environment. You will manage projects from planning through to handover, guiding multi-disciplinary teams and coordinating with suppliers and partners.

You will build strong relationships with stakeholders, exercise sound commercial judgment, and travel to project sites as required.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in project and contract management.
  • Feasibility assessment, asset management, business case development, cost monitoring/forecasting, scope preparation, CDM, engineering design and construction.
  • Experience in a project and contract management environment, ideally within engineering, construction and/or flood & coastal risk management.
  • A track record for delivering results on technically challenging projects through coordination of a technical team.
  • The ability to mentor and support your teams in delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills as relationship management of both internal and external stakeholders is an important aspect of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver exciting, innovative projects including flood risk management studies and schemes.
  • Oversee project delivery from initial strategic planning through feasibility, detailed design, and into implementation, construction and handover.
  • Support team members and build high-performing teams including suppliers, client representatives, technical specialists and partners.
  • Apply strong commercial acumen in project, contract and risk management and maintain governance procedures.
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders such as statutory authorities, landowners and communities to negotiate consents and funding.
