Job summary

The Environment Agency seeks a Project Manager to lead flood risk management studies and schemes, delivering projects from strategic planning through feasibility, design, construction and handover. The role sits within the Project & Programme Management team, working with suppliers, client representatives and technical specialists to drive successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Experienced in project and contract management.
• Areas of expertise that would support role include feasibility assessment, asset management, business case development, cost monitoring/forecasting, scope preparation, CDM, engineering design and construction.
• Experience in a project and contract management environment, ideally within engineering, construction and/or flood & coastal risk management.
• A track record for delivering results on technically challenging projects through coordination of a technical team.
• The ability to mentor and support your teams in delivery.
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills as relationship management of both internal and external stakeholders is an important aspect of the role.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver flood risk management projects from planning through handover.
• Manage projects as Client project manager or with senior colleagues.
• Coordinate suppliers, client reps, and technical specialists to deliver outcomes.
• Apply contract, risk and financial management to ensure governance compliance.
