Job summary

Environment Agency in Leeds or Newcastle seeks a Project Manager to lead delivery of flood risk and environmental projects within the Project & Programme Delivery team. You will guide projects from strategic planning through feasibility, design, construction and handover, ensuring governance and collaboration with technical leads.

You will build high performing teams with suppliers and stakeholders, applying contract and risk management and respond to incidents as required.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, environmental or geography related discipline.
• Ideally working toward chartered membership of a professional body such as ICE, CIWEM or APMP.
• Experience in hydrology, river modelling, feasibility assessment, asset management, cost monitoring/forecasting.
• Experience in project, contract and management within engineering, construction and/or flood & coastal risk management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver projects from planning to handover with governance and legislation followed.
• Build collaborative working relationships with stakeholders from initial planning to handover.
• Apply commercial acumen in project, contract and risk management to ensure delivery.
• Establish relationships with authorities, landowners and communities to negotiate consents.
• Respond to incidents and provide business continuity support as required.
