Flood Risk Engineer

Responsibilities
  • Preparing Flood Risk Assessments for residential, commercial and mixed‑use developments
  • Producing drainage strategies and surface water management plans in line with current guidance and best practice
  • Undertaking hydraulic and hydrological assessments using industry‑standard software
  • Liaising with the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood Authorities and other consultees
  • Supporting planning applications through technical input and responses to consultee comments
  • Working closely with planners, engineers and other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions
Qualifications
  • Experience in flood risk and drainage within a consultancy or local authority environment
  • A solid understanding of UK flood risk policy, planning guidance and SuDS design
  • Experience producing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly
  • A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Progress towards, or interest in working towards, professional accreditation (desirable)
