Progress Teachers are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our mainstream Primary School in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, to support across all phases EYFS-KS2. This setting offers a nurturing and structured environment where every child is supported to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

As an LSA you will plan engaging activities, tailor learning to individual needs, observe progress, and provide targeted support.

Qualifications

• Experience working in school settings (including Private Day Nurseries).
• Teaching Assistant or EYFS Practitioner qualification required.
• DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Available to start Monday - Thursday from Tuesday 1st September.

About the Role:

As an LSA, you will:

• Plan Age-Appropriate Activities:Create and implement educational activities and experiences that are engaging, enjoyable, and suitable for the developmental stage of the children.
• Tailor Learning to Individual Needs:Recognize and respond to the different developmental stages, learning styles, and interests of each child.
• Follow KS1-KS2 Framework:Adhere to the principles, Experience working within Key Stage 1/2, with a sound knowledge of the National Curriculum, assessment expectations, and effective classroom practices
• Observe and Assess Children:Regularly observe children to assess their development and learning, using both formal and informal methods.
• Record Progress:Keep detailed records of children's progress in each area of learning, documenting achievements, milestones, and any areas where they may need additional support.
• Provide Individual Support:Offer tailored support for children with additional needs or those who may require extra help in certain areas of development.
• Promote Positive Behavior:Set clear expectations for behavior and provide consistent praise and rewards for good behavior.
• Model Behavior:Demonstrate appropriate social behavior and help children understand the impact of their actions on others.
• Support Emotional Development:Help children manage their emotions, understand empathy, and develop resilience.

What We're Looking For:

• You have previous experience working within school settings (including Private Day Nurseries)
• Will have a Teaching Assistant or EYFS Practitioner qualification.
• A calm,patient, and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• You have a DBS on the Update Service (or are willing to apply for one)
• Available to start work Monday - Thursday from Tuesday 1st September
