Progress Teachers Ltd is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our mainstream primary school in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, supporting across EYFS-KS2. The role focuses on engaging activities, tracking progress, and providing tailored help to children.

The ideal candidate will have a Teaching Assistant or EYFS Practitioner qualification, DBS Update Service, and a calm, patient, adaptable approach.

Qualifications

• Experience working within school settings, including Private Day Nurseries.
• Teaching Assistant or EYFS Practitioner qualification.
• DBS Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• Calm, patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan age-appropriate activities and experiences for children across developmental stages.
• Tailor learning to individual needs and interests.
• Follow KS1-KS2 framework with knowledge of National Curriculum and assessments.
• Observe and assess children's development using formal and informal methods.
• Record progress and milestones for each child.
• Provide targeted support for children needing extra help.
• Promote positive behavior with clear expectations and praise.
• Model appropriate social behavior and help develop emotional resilience.
• Support emotional development and empathy in children.
