Job summary

Progress Teachers Ltd in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our mainstream Primary School, supporting across EYFS-KS2 in a nurturing, structured environment. Responsibilities include planning engaging activities, tailoring learning to individual needs, observing and recording progress, and providing emotional and behavioral support.

A TA/EYFS qualification and a DBS on Update Service are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience working within school settings (including Private Day Nurseries).
• Teaching Assistant or EYFS Practitioner qualification required.
• Calm, patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• DBS on Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• Available to start work Monday–Thursday from 1st September.

Responsibilities

• Plan age-appropriate activities for developmental stages.
• Tailor learning to individual needs and interests.
• Follow KS1-KS2 framework and National Curriculum expectations.
• Observe and assess children using formal and informal methods.
• Record progress and milestones for each child.
• Provide tailored support for children needing extra help.
• Promote positive behavior with clear expectations and praise.
• Model appropriate social behavior for children.
• Support emotional development and resilience.
