Job summary

Supply Desk is recruiting an EYFS Learning Support Assistant for a full-time role at an HP14 primary school. The position starts ASAP/September and offers a long-term opportunity to contribute to a caring classroom. You will support early years learning and help children reach their potential within a nurturing school environment.

Ideal candidates are patient, proactive, and team-oriented with a passion for supporting children's development and SEN needs.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children, school-based preferred.
  • Patient, supportive, and positive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils learning in the classroom, 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and resource preparation.
  • Provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs (SEN).
  • Encourage pupil confidence, independence and engagement in learning.
  • Monitor and report pupil progress to the class teacher.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff and external professionals.
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.

EYFS Learning Support Assistant (Full-Time)
HP14 Primary School Setting

Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the HP14 area to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing school environment and make a real difference in supporting pupils learning and development.

This role would suit a patient, caring, and proactive individual who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential and thrive in the classroom.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils learning, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You will play a key role in helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting pupils learning in the classroom, both 1:1 and in small groups
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and preparation of resources
  • Providing targeted support for pupils with additional needs (SEN)
  • Encouraging pupils confidence, independence, and engagement in learning
  • Supporting pupils social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress to the class teacher
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, staff, and external professionals
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children (school-based experience desirable)
  • A patient, supportive, and positive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
  • A genuine passion for supporting children s development
Desirable:
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
