Job summary

Progress Teachers are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our mainstream Primary School in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, to support across all phases EYFS-KS2. This setting offers a nurturing and structured environment where every child is supported to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

As an LSA you will plan engaging activities, tailor learning to individual needs, observe progress, and provide targeted support.

Qualifications

• Experience working in school settings (including Private Day Nurseries).
• Teaching Assistant or EYFS Practitioner qualification required.
• DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Available to start Monday - Thursday from Tuesday 1st September.

Responsibilities

• Plan age-appropriate activities and create engaging learning experiences.
• Tailor learning to individual needs based on development stages.
• Follow KS1-KS2 framework and align with National Curriculum expectations.
• Observe and assess children's development using formal and informal methods.
• Record progress by documenting milestones and areas for improvement.
• Provide individual support for children needing extra help.
• Promote positive behavior with clear expectations and consistent praise.
• Model appropriate social behavior and help children understand impact of actions.
• Support emotional development by helping children manage emotions and build resilience.
