Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a relief assistant caretaker to help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming learning environment for pupils and staff across its sites in Barnsley. The position is casual with a zero-hours contract.

You will be called upon to cover staff absences, holidays, and peak periods, performing cleaning, basic maintenance, and related tasks under supervision. No prior experience is required as full training is provided, and you will be supported by a friendly estates

Qualifications

• No experience required; full training provided.
• Reliable, hardworking with a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to follow Health & Safety guidance and safeguarding policies.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning specified areas according to standards.
• Carrying out caretaking duties including minor DIY repairs.
• Safely storing cleaning equipment after use.
• Reporting faults or shortages to supervisor promptly.
• Participating in health & safety, COSHH and safeguarding training.
