Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a relief assistant caretaker to help keep learning environments clean, safe and welcoming for pupils. The role is casual with zero-hours, called as needed to cover absences, holidays, or busy periods.

You will work with the Estates team and report to the Estates Manager or Head of School. Ideal candidates are reliable, hardworking and comfortable with practical tasks, basic repairs and equipment handling.

Qualifications

• Reliable and hardworking individual ensuring a safe, clean environment for pupils and staff.
• Able to work as part of a team and follow guidance from Estates Manager or Head of School.
• Willing to be on-call for relief shifts and adapt to variable hours.
• Commitment to Health & Safety guidelines and safeguarding policies.
• Comfortable with practical tasks, basic maintenance and handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for cleaning specified areas following Trust standards.
• Carry out caretaking duties including minor DIY repairs as directed.
• Safely store cleaning equipment after use and maintain designated areas.
• Proactively report faults, shortages or issues to supervisor.
• Complete required health and safety, COSHH and safeguarding training.
