Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust in Leeds is seeking relief assistant caretakers to join our estates team. The role is zero-hours, with flexible shifts to cover staff absences, holidays or busy periods.

No prior experience or formal qualifications are required as full training is provided. You will help keep our learning environment clean, safe and welcoming for pupils and staff, while following health and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Taking responsibility for cleaning specified areas, following the Trust's standards and methods.
• Carrying out caretaking duties as directed by the Estates Manager or Head of School, including minor DIY repairs to the building fabric or equipment.
• Safely storing all cleaning equipment and materials in designated areas after use.
• Proactively reporting any equipment faults, issues, or material shortages directly to your immediate supervisor.
• Participating in required staff training to ensure all health and safety, COSHH, and safeguarding standards are strictly met and maintained.
