Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a relief assistant caretaker to join our Estates team. The role helps keep our learning environments clean, safe and welcoming for pupils and staff. No experience or formal qualifications are required; full training is provided from day one.

This casual, zero-hours contract offers flexible "as-and-when-needed" shifts to cover absences, holidays or busy periods. Interviews will be virtual.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; full training provided from day one.
• Reliable and hardworking with a strong work ethic.
• Willing to perform practical and physical tasks, including basic maintenance.
• Ability to work in a team and act as a key holder when required.
• Committed to health & safety and safeguarding policies.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for cleaning specified areas following Trust standards.
• Carry out caretaking duties and minor DIY repairs as directed by Estates Manager.
• Safely store cleaning equipment and materials after use.
• Proactively report faults, issues or shortages to your supervisor.
• Participate in required health & safety, COSHH, and safeguarding training.
