You will plan and deliver scheduled maintenance, manage resources, and ensure vehicles remain roadworthy, supporting essential local services.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in a transport, fleet or vehicle maintenance environment.
• Proven ability to supervise and develop technical teams.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance legislation and DVSA requirements.
• Experience managing planned maintenance programmes and safety systems.
• Excellent organisation, communication and prioritisation skills.
• Commitment to service delivery and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Council's vehicle workshop and MOT testing centre (Class 4, 5, 7).
• Lead planned maintenance programmes and preventative maintenance activities.
• Develop and manage a skilled team, ensuring compliance with DVSA standards and operator licensing.
• Drive health and safety, quality assurance and operational performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and customer service, keeping fleet roadworthy.
