Job summary

Irlam Associates Group is recruiting a Business Development Manager for a role covering the Central Belt of Scotland, including Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee. The role offers £50,000 per annum plus commission and focuses on growing the commercial vehicle business across the UK.

You will identify new opportunities, nurture fleet operator relationships and expand existing accounts, driving vehicle sales and aftersales support across the region.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales or business development within commercial vehicles (trucks, vans or HGVs).
• Proven track record of winning new business and developing customer accounts.
• Experience selling to fleet operators or transport businesses.
• Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
• Proactive approach to prospecting and managing a sales pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities across the region.
• Build and develop relationships with fleet customers and commercial vehicle operators.
• Grow existing accounts, identifying opportunities for further vehicle sales.
• Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable vehicle solutions.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate terms and manage the sales process.
• Work closely with parts and aftersales teams to support customers.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and monitor market activity and competitors.
