Do you enjoy working with a wide array of stakeholders across the business from financial controllers to business managers to ensure the technical accounting presentation of fixed assets is correct? Are you passionate about driving best practice at Airbus Commercial level working with transnational peers to harmonise for the best for the company? Then this UK Fixed Asset role could be for you! You’ll also have the opportunity to gain Internal and external audit exposure developing internal controls and building wider understanding of the business alongside the development of technical skills both accounting & systems.

The Fixed Asset Accountant role works within the UK Financial Accounting team which is responsible for the integrity of the Financial Balance Sheet of Airbus Operations Ltd submitted for both Airbus Group reporting and statutory reporting. This unique position enables the individual to gain an insightful top‑level view of the financials for the UK Commercial division and to understand the business drivers that sit behind the numbers.

The Financial Accounting UK team has a strong team ethic and work well together to support shared understanding and help each other to deliver as one team. This role is ideal for someone looking to strengthen their technical financial accounting skillset via various challenging topics whilst contributing to the corporate accounting submissions and business processes impacting the company’s financials.

How You Will Contribute To The Team

• Fixed Asset lifecycle management – Responsible for the management of the fixed asset accounting postings for both tangible and intangible assets from Assets Under Construction Entry into service capitalisation and depreciation to retirement.
• Closing activity – Key contributor for the on‑time, on‑quality monthly delivery of the Fixed Asset elements of the Airbus Operations Ltd corporate financial statements submission. Includes fixed asset postings, balance sheet reconciliations and trend analysis to ensure a good understanding of cost drivers in the areas responsible for. Build relations with the Consolidation team and the UK Finance team to strengthen the quality of the submissions.
• Audit – strong support in relation to external audit requirements and internal controls implementation including asset physical verification activity and Assets Under Construction ageing.
• Consultant to the business – Advisor to Finance and the wider business on Fixed Asset accounting considerations, building relationships with stakeholders to gain their engagement and agreement of those accounting topics. Undertake training to enhance their knowledge and appreciation of the Fixed Asset accounting requirements.
• Transnational Harmonisation – work with transnational counterparts to share best practice, devise harmonise ways of working and implement improvement projects.
• Ad hoc – Involvement in a wide range of ad hoc requirements / projects / digitalisation to drive the function forward.
