A local government authority in Uxbridge is seeking a dedicated individual to provide information and support to families with children up to 19 years old. The successful candidate will assist families in accessing early years entitlements and maintain essential records related to childcare services. This role requires excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to outreach efforts in the community. The ideal candidate will be well-organized, knowledgeable about family challenges, and committed to making a difference in the lives of local families.
Working as part of a small team, the successful candidate will offer information, advice and assistance to families with a child or young person up to the age of 19 (or 25 for young people with special educational needs or a disability). This will involve providing advice to families via telephone, email and in person. This advice will be about finding and paying for childcare and early education and other services that may be of benefit to them.
The focus of this role will be on implementing the early years entitlements funding for under fives. This will involve:
The successful applicant will be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) with Maths and English. A qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance is also desirable.
You will have demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the problems and difficulties faced by families and the ability to help them find constructive solutions.
You will have excellent communication skills and an ability to deal with a wide variety of people with tact and diplomacy in person, by phone and in writing. You will need a positive and proactive approach to work. You will also be a competent ICT user, with experience of using management information systems and databases. Good organisational skills are also essential.
