Overview

There has never been a more exciting time to join us! At Firvale we are transforming our services and are recruiting a Band 5 staff nurse to our team. We provide continuing care for children and young people with complex health needs and learning disabilities within a homely environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking Paediatric or Learning Disability nurse, ideally with community experience, keen to develop skills working with staff, families, children and young people with a wide variety of complex health conditions.

Responsibilities

A key aspect of this role is maintaining high quality care in a positive, stimulating and safe environment. You would be one of the staff nurses working in the four-bed health unit, focusing on delivering high quality clinical care for children with complex health needs in our health team. This role offers the opportunity to meet the health and social care needs of children, young people and their families within a multidisciplinary inter-agency framework.

Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver high quality clinical care to children with complex health needs in the four-bed health unit.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary and inter-agency team to meet health and social care needs.
  • Support families and young people, providing care in a safe, positive environment.
  • Engage in clinical supervision, regular appraisal, and development planning to progress professional goals.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Paediatric or Learning Disability nurse (Band 5), with ideally community experience.
  • Enthusiastic, innovative and eager to develop knowledge and new ways of working.
  • Ability to work with staff, families, children and young people with a wide variety of complex health conditions.
