Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in the UK is seeking a skilled Service Engineer to manage maintenance and remedial tasks while adhering to British Standards. The ideal candidate will effectively communicate with customers regarding service outcomes, manage van stock for efficiency, and complete company documentation. Additionally, the role includes emergency response duties and occasional supervisory responsibilities. Responsibilities

• Work with line manager to agree business objectives.
• Self-manage ongoing van stock for first time fix.
• Complete documentation in line with company expectations.
• Respond to emergency calls within specified timescale.
• Complete company documentation thoroughly and in line with company expectations.
• To undertake reasonable overtime from time to time and as required by the business to ensure that a customer’s premises remains fully operational and complaint.
• Identify all non‑conformances and recommendations as part of the Service visit and report back recommendations to the Service Desk, so the relevant quotations can be raised.
• Respond to emergency calls within the timescale specified wherever possible.
• Have occasional supervisory responsibility for junior or trainee engineers should they accompany you onto site.
• Provide support for other engineers from time to time.

Job Summary

• Servicing of planned maintenance, Reactive & Remedial Calls across thecustomer base in line with the current British Standards and current legislation.
• Effectively communicate with the customer the details of their Service / Fault / Remedial visit advising of the outcome and any additional works required.
• To promote the company values at all times.
• To act as an ambassador for the company at all times, demonstrating and upholding a professional manner at all times.

Core Responsibilities

• To work with and report to your line manager to agree business objectives and to review key performance indicators.
• Complete all works issued at the most cost effective, efficient and timely manner in line with company policies.
• To self‑manage your on‑going van stock to ensure first time fix is maximized on approved job selection.
• To attend any training sessions that are identified by the company and advise of any training needs you feel are required to carry out your job duties.
• Complete company documentation thoroughly and in line with company expectations.
• To undertake reasonable overtime from time to time and as required by the business to ensure that a customer’s premises remains fully operational and complaint.

Overtime Rates

• Monday – Friday: 17:00 - 00.00 Paid at Time & Half
• Monday – Friday: 00.00 – 08.30 Paid at Double Time
• Saturday – Time/Half to mid-day, double time thereafter
• Sunday – Double time
• Bank Holidays on call – Double time and a day back in lieu
• Travel time during overtime is paid at single rate

Holiday

22 Days holiday pro rata – January to December plus statutory bank holidays. Every year an extra day is added for the first 5 years of employment. Once 10 years’ service is reached an additional 3 days is added. Total number of days excluding bank holidays will therefore be 30.
