Job description

We are seeking a detail driven and proactive Financial Controller to join the Karntek team in Stafford. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands on finance environment, enjoys improving processes and is confident working with Xero to maintain accurate financial records and support the wider business.

You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of our financial data, supporting day to day finance operations and contributing to timely reporting and month end activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date financial records within Xero
  • Assisting with the preparation, processing, and reconciliation of invoices, payments and expenses
  • Supporting budget tracking, variance analysis, and preparation of financial reports
  • Reconciling bank statements, credit cards, and other financial accounts
  • Providing clear, timely financial information and reports to the management team
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, internal controls, and relevant financial regulations
  • Assisting with month-end close, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Supporting internal and external audit processes
  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and enhance reporting accuracy
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or senior accounting role
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with non-finance stakeholders
  • AAT/ACCA/CIMA qualification (or working toward) is advantageous
