Job summary

A premier hotel in Dartmouth is seeking a Finance Controller to oversee financial functions. You will lead the finance department with responsibilities including budgeting and compliance. Ideal candidates will be fully qualified or part-qualified accountants with hospitality experience, strong analytical skills, and leadership capabilities. Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a finance role ideally within hospitality or a multi-revenue-stream business.
  • Strong analytical skills exceptional attention to detail and commercial awareness.
  • Confident with financial systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and support a culture of excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the hotel's finance department including budgeting forecasting and month-end processes.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely production of management accounts.
  • Monitor cash flow financial performance and cost control across all operational areas.
  • Oversee payroll invoicing purchasing and revenue reporting.
  • Work closely with department heads to support commercial decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations policies and internal controls.
  • Liaise with external auditors banks and central office.

Role Overview
