Job description
Overview

Are you a financial advisor looking to be better than the average by growing your expertise, deepening your customer relationships and becoming a specialist in your field? Would you like to become a trusted partner to our UK Medical Professionals? Do you want to help shape brighter financial futures for your customers whilst building your own? Are you looking for a supportive and caring culture that provides you with autonomy on how you manage your customers and workload? If you answered yes to any of the above and are looking for a career as a Specialist Financial Adviser, the following might be of interest to you.

How we will support you in the role

We will provide you with the knowledge and resources that will enable you to become a true Specialist Financial Advisor to medical professionals. Following an initial assessment of your advice, experience and knowledge, we will enrol you on a bespoke onboarding programme that caters to your learning requirements to allow you to excel as a recognised specialist that delivers complex advice to GPs and Hospital Doctors in your respective territory.

In addition to having the ability to generate your own leads, our award‑winning marketing team will provide you with high‑quality medical leads with strong potential for conversion.

You will have dedicated support from our Medical Paraplanning team as well as the wider administrative teams, giving you time to focus on using your expertise to deliver complex advice to your customers.

Our sizable team of Medical Relationship Coordinators will book your appointments and work closely with you to ensure the schedule works for you.

Flexibility to manage workload and personal life. We have partnerships and affinities with medical professionals and are recognised by the Royal College of General Practitioners, allowing our advisors to gain knowledge and insights from these specialist areas.

Personal development (relationship development, profile building, qualifications, increasing number of product licences). A collaborative and transformative culture that welcomes your ideas on how we can continue to deliver a best‑in‑class service that benefits you, our customers and our business.

You will have autonomy to use your expertise to determine what advice and products are best for your customer.

Responsibilities
  • Put Hospital Doctors and GPs at the heart of what you do by using your expertise to be their critical friend that provides quality specialist financial advice on life insurance, pension, investment, wealth management and inheritance tax to truly maximise their wealth opportunities and individual needs.
  • Formulate client engagement strategies to drive acquisition and long‑term loyalty.
  • Build a genuine connection with your customers by developing a deep understanding of their financial needs and aspirations and by demonstrating the value and difference your specialist financial advice can make to their future as well as to their families’ and business.
  • Develop relationships with our medical partnerships and affinities to understand the ongoing challenges that medical professionals are facing, which you then take into account when providing advice. This in turn demonstrates to your customers that you are an educated, trusted partner to their profession.
  • Build successful relationships with the wider support teams and offer suggestions on how we can collaboratively deliver the best possible outcome to our customers in an efficient and timely way.
Qualifications
  • QCF Level 4 qualified (essential) and Competent Advisor Status.
  • Chartered status would be advantageous.
  • Experience of providing financial planning in a regulated environment and ideally experience with complex advice and wealth management.
  • A demonstrated ability to nurture, grow and retain a customer base.
  • An ambitious attitude with a business‑growth mindset.
  • A proven history of building long‑lasting and meaningful customer relationships.
  • Innovation and practicality that supports achieving optimum outcomes for you, for our customers and for the business.
  • A continuous thirst for knowledge that supports you in seeking better ways to serve your customers.
  • A strategic and innovative thinker with a pragmatic and inquisitive mindset.
  • Trustworthy and acting with ethical integrity.
  • Experience in identifying challenges that will impact your customers and establishing solutions to resolve them.
  • Strong communication and active listening skills; takes the time to truly understand the customer’s needs and leverages expertise to offer thoughtful, tailored recommendations.
  • Experience of working against income‑budget targets.
Benefits
  • Starting salary of £50,000 – £60,000 with an OTE of £79,000.
  • Bonus scheme with potential to earn 160% of your salary per year (40% per quarter) with an additional maximum on‑target behaviour bonus of 15% (7.5% typical pay‑out).
  • 28 days holiday plus bank holidays (increases to 30 days after 5 years). Option to buy extra holiday days or sell unused days.
  • Car allowance of £6,050 per year.
  • A great pension scheme – company matched plus 2% (up to 10%).
  • Life assurance worth four times your base pay.
  • Personal development – we offer great training programmes and support you with external, professional qualifications.
  • Flexible benefits – includes travel loan/car parking scheme, cycle‑to‑work programme and medical cover.
  • Discounts across major brands in retail, health, wellbeing and leisure.
  • Volunteering days – two days a year off work to volunteer for a worthy cause.
