Financial Accountant Clarke Energy (Knowsley HQ)

Are you a qualified Financial Accountant with a sharp eye for detail and a drive to improve financial processes? Clarke Energy is looking for a proactive finance professional to join our team at our Knowsley headquarters. You’ll play a pivotal role in managing financial controls, cash‑flow and regulatory compliance helping us power the future of sustainable energy.

What You’ll Do

As a Financial Accountant you’ll lead transactional finance operations and support strategic reporting. Your day‑to‑day will include:



  • Managing payment processes and forecasting cash‑flow

  • Reviewing team outputs to ensure accuracy and timeliness

  • Guiding and developing team members in daily operations

  • Enhancing financial controls and identifying process improvements

  • Preparing VAT returns and ensuring HMRC compliance

  • Owning key finance projects and reporting packs

  • Producing monthly reports and supporting audits

  • Reviewing balance sheets, fixed assets and expense records

  • Supporting treasury functions, FX deals and inter‑company funding

  • Collaborating across departments to drive efficiency


What We’re Looking For – Essential Skills & Experience


  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified

  • Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial reporting

  • Experience in a fast‑paced corporate finance environment

  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems (Navision/4PS a plus)
