Job description

Equifind are excited to have joined up with a leading financial services firm in London, who are looking to hire a new financial accountant to join the team.

We’re looking for a newly qualified accountant to come in and support the wider finance team. You’ll get involved with all things monthly financial reporting.

You’ll join a large finance team and get involved with as much as you can handle, while supporting the finance manager.

Key duties and responsibilities for this financial accountant position include:

• Prepare journal entries for recurring monthly transactions
• Prepare the month end trial balance for all entities in multiple jurisdictions
• Reviewing the trial balance of each entity to ensure balance sheet accounts are appropriately updated
• Look into variances after reviewing the trial balance
• Maintain accounting processes and procedures
• Prepare indirect tax returns in line with local tax requirements for certain jurisdictions
• Assist the finance team to prepare the annual statutory financial statements for multiple entities including supporting notes
• Assist the finance team with the preparation of the monthly cash flow for multiple entities
• Assist the finance team with the production of the annual audit and the supporting packs
• Assisting in the new vendor set up process with the financial operations team
• Ad hoc projects as and when requested by senior management

Experience & Qualifications

• Finalist or Newly Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CA)
• Experience of working within the financial services sector is beneficial
• Experience of audit work
• Working knowledge of UK GAAP and US GAAP
• Strong stakeholder engagement
• Strong excel systems experience
• Be a self-starter and deliver reports in a timely and accurate manner

For this role, we are preferably looking for candidates happy to go into the great London offices three days per week.

Daily Rate/Salary

This financial accountant opportunity in London will pay in the region of £55k-65kper annum, depending on your level of experience and industry background.

For this assignment we are looking at candidates on no more than four weeks’ notice, as we would ideally like someone to start in January.
