Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in the UK seeks an experienced Financial Accountant to analyse financial statements, manage the company balance sheet, and support reporting and budgeting. Ideal candidates should have strong IT and administration skills, be part qualified, and have experience in a financial accounting environment. Qualifications

  • Experience working within a financial accounting environment.
  • Able to self-motivate and deliver accurate reporting to tight timescales.

Responsibilities

  • Analysing and interpreting financial statements to support commercial decision-making.
  • Helping business support teams understand and manage their costs.
  • Taking overall responsibility for the company balance sheet, including fixed assets.
  • Managing the production of Statutory Accounts and accompanying notes.
  • Reporting and budgeting for revenue and costs.
  • Preparing and presenting period, quarterly and YTD reporting with KPI analysis.
  • Producing daily and long-term cashflow forecasts.
  • Processing authorised automated bank payments.
  • Calculating and reporting customer rebates.
  • Leading financial modelling and analysis for forecasts, budgets and business plans.
  • Supporting audit and tax work to ensure compliance.
  • Driving improvements in reporting, systems, processes and timescales.

So what will you be doing?
  • You'll be analysing and interpreting financial statements to support commercial decision-making.
  • You'll help business support teams understand and manage their costs.

  • Managing the production of Statutory Accounts and accompanying notes.
  • Reporting and budgeting for revenue and costs.
  • Preparing and presenting period, quarterly and YTD reporting with KPI analysis.
  • Preparing weekly reports for review.
  • Producing daily and long-term cashflow forecasts.
  • Processing authorised automated bank payments.
  • Calculating and reporting customer rebates.
  • Leading financial modelling and analysis for forecasts, budgets and business plans.
  • Supporting audit and tax work to ensure compliance.
  • Completing environmental (SECR) reports, insurance renewals and purchasing statistics.
  • Driving improvements in reporting, systems, processes and timescales.
  • Supporting financial and IT process/system projects.
  • Championing ESG and food safety culture within the business.
  • Promoting best practice in Cyber Essentials and data integrity.
  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive and collaborative working environment.
