Finance Manager / Assistant Finance Manager

We are seeking a driven and talented Finance Manager or Assistant Finance Manager to join our growing team at Modern Media Company Limited in Aberdeen Southern District. This is a full-time position that will play a key role in supporting the financial management and strategic objectives of our dynamic, forward-thinking media organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management
• Prepare and analyse financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide insightful reporting to leadership
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies
• Support the development and implementation of financial systems and controls
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance and support business initiatives
• Supervise and mentor junior finance staff, fostering a positive team environment
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions

What We're Looking For

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 3+ years of relevant experience in a finance role
• Strong knowledge of financial management, reporting, and analysis within a fast-paced, commercial environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Proficient in using financial systems and software, including advanced Excel skills
• Proactive and solutions-oriented, with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving abilities
• Experience in the media or publishing industry is desirable, but not essential
