Job description

Novo Consultants is an award‑winning, innovative consultancy that puts its people first while delivering high‑quality Commercial, Planning, and Project Controls services to leading engineering and contracting organisations. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our dynamic team.

The Role

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end management of Novo Consultants' finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, forecasting, and financial control. You will play a key role in supporting the business and providing clear financial insight to the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and approve staff and consultant timesheets, ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Review, approve, and reconcile staff expenses
  • Raise and submit client invoices and expenses using authorised WeWorked data
  • Undertake credit checks for all new clients and commissions to minimise financial risk
  • Address and resolve client invoice queries promptly and professionally
  • Maintain an accurate rolling 3‑month cash flow forecast, updated with live data
  • Manage debtor accounts and follow established procedures for outstanding payments
  • Complete weekly bank reconciliations in Xero and request required information from team members
  • Prepare and manage monthly management accounts and report at monthly board meetings
  • Manage supplier payments, ensuring accurate capture in cash flow forecasts and monthly reports
  • Support new starter inductions, ensuring smooth onboarding including IT and systems set‑up
  • Manage monthly payroll and pension processes, including submissions to HMRC for tax and National Insurance
  • Collate and prepare information for VAT and taxation submissions to HMRC
  • Administer private medical insurance and Death in Service (DIS) benefits, ensuring timely payments and enrolment of new starters
About You

You will be a proactive and detail‑oriented finance professional with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced consultancy environment.

  • Fully qualified or working towards accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
Salary & Benefits (PAYE)
  • Salary: From £45,000 per annum
  • Bonus: Up to 10% of salary (50% company performance, 50% individual performance)
  • Car/Allowance: £4,500 - £5,500 per annum + £0.35/mile
  • Pension: 8% employer contribution (staff contribute 1 - 8%)
  • Healthcare: Individual cover (family cover as salary sacrifice)
  • Holidays: 28 days plus Bank Holidays (no requirement to use leave for 2-3 days over Christmas)
  • Additional Benefits: Laptop, IT support, and paid mobile phone (up to £58/month).
