  • Managing the purchase ledger, including processing invoices.
  • Assisting with banking activities and reconciliations.
  • Preparing payment runs in line with company deadlines.
  • Supporting the preparation of VAT returns.
  • Processing employee expenses in line with policy.
  • Assisting with the annual stock take.

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in finance and accounting, as the role offers hands-on experience across a wide range of finance functions.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to undertake a finance apprenticeship, gaining professional qualifications alongside valuable workplace experience.

Responsibilities
  • Managing the purchase ledger, including processing invoices and supplier payments.
  • Assisting with banking activities and reconciliations.
  • Preparing and processing payment runs in line with company deadlines.
  • Supporting the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
  • Processing and reconciling employee expenses in line with company policy.
  • Assisting with the annual stock take and related financial reporting.
  • Providing general support to the Finance Team, including ad-hoc administrative and accounting tasks.
Qualifications
  • A willingness to undertake a finance qualification (full training will be provided).
  • Good numeracy and IT skills, with confidence using Microsoft Excel and other office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
