Johnson Controls is seeking a Trainee Field Service Technician to support the installation of our sensor technology. This field-based role covers Birmingham and the South of the UK, with UK-wide travel during training.

You will install hardware on customer sites, complete on-site testing, and maintain Excel-based installation records. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel are essential, with shift patterns including early mornings and late finishes.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Willingness to travel UK-wide and stay away from home.
• Flexible to work early and late shift patterns.
• Proficient with Excel and basic IT skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Confident communicator with customers and colleagues.
• Physical ability to carry out installations, including working at height.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation and testing of sensor technology.
• Prepare and install hardware on customer sites.
• Review floor plans to determine equipment requirements.
• Maintain accurate Excel-based installation records.
• Complete on-site system testing.
• Document all work in line with company standards.
