Job summary

FM Systems, part of Johnson Controls, is seeking a Trainee Field Service Technician to support sensor technology installations across the UK. The role is field-based, with travel nationwide and regular overnight stays. You will assist with installation, testing, and documentation on customer sites, requiring flexibility for early and late shifts.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work away from home.
• Flexibility to work early and late shift patterns.
• Good IT skills, including Excel.
• Strong organisation and time management skills.
• Confident communicator with customers and colleagues.
• Physical ability to carry out installations, including working at height using ladders.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation and testing of sensor technology.
• Prepare and install hardware on customer sites.
• Review floor plans to determine equipment requirements.
• Maintain accurate Excel-based installation records.
• Complete on-site system testing.
• Document all work in line with company standards.
