Job summary

SMT is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service Volvo construction equipment across Yorkshire. This full-time, permanent role requires NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or related discipline and a valid UK driving licence. You’ll diagnose faults on-site, repair equipment, and maintain strong customer relationships.

You’ll work independently on customer sites, ensuring maximum machine uptime, while documenting work in real time and upholding SMT’s safety standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Maintenance, or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant equipment.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, diagnose, and repair Volvo construction equipment within the Yorkshire region.
• Interact directly with customers, update on repairs, and recommend action.
• Complete documentation, inspections, timesheets, and records in real time.
• Adhere to safety, professionalism, and company policies.
