Job summary

SMT is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our Customer Support team covering Kent and surrounding areas. You will service, diagnose, and repair Volvo construction equipment, keeping machines operational in challenging environments while building strong customer relationships.

Applicants must hold an NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, or HGV Maintenance, with proven hands-on experience maintaining and repairing construction plant equipment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Maintenance, or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience maintaining and repairing construction plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Volvo construction equipment within your territory.
• Identify and resolve faults in diesel engines, hydraulics, drivetrains, electrics, and diagnostic systems.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing updates on machine status and repair progress.
• Complete all job documentation, inspection reports, timesheets and electronic records in real time.
• Maintain high standards of safety, professionalism, housekeeping and compliance with company policies.
