Key Responsibilities
- Planned Maintenance & Servicing – Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on diesel generators across customer‑owned and rental fleets.
- Repairs & Diagnostics – Diagnose faults and perform effective repairs to ensure minimal downtime and high customer satisfaction.
- Site Surveys – Conduct site surveys to determine service needs and maintenance requirements.
- On‑Call Support – Participate in an on‑call rota to provide support outside standard working hours.
- Health & Safety Compliance – Follow all Health & Safety policies and maintain clean, safe work environments, including company vehicles.
- Comply with ISO standards (ISO 9001, 45001, 14001, 50001) and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required
Technical Background
- Qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, or Plant Maintenance (City & Guilds, BTEC or similar).
- OR completion of an approved Mechanical/Electrical Engineering apprenticeship.
- Proven experience servicing and repairing generator sets (FG Wilson, Cummins or similar) essential.
Core Skills
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
Industry Experience
- Prior field service experience advantageous.
Additional Requirements
- Full driving licence.
- Strong customer focus with the ability to deliver efficient, high‑quality service.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- ECS/CSCS or CCNSG competency card preferred (training available if needed).
