Key Responsibilities
  • Planned Maintenance & Servicing – Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on diesel generators across customer‑owned and rental fleets.
  • Repairs & Diagnostics – Diagnose faults and perform effective repairs to ensure minimal downtime and high customer satisfaction.
  • Site Surveys – Conduct site surveys to determine service needs and maintenance requirements.
  • On‑Call Support – Participate in an on‑call rota to provide support outside standard working hours.
  • Health & Safety Compliance – Follow all Health & Safety policies and maintain clean, safe work environments, including company vehicles.
  • Comply with ISO standards (ISO 9001, 45001, 14001, 50001) and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required
Technical Background
  • Qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, or Plant Maintenance (City & Guilds, BTEC or similar).
  • OR completion of an approved Mechanical/Electrical Engineering apprenticeship.
  • Proven experience servicing and repairing generator sets (FG Wilson, Cummins or similar) essential.
Core Skills
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
Industry Experience
  • Prior field service experience advantageous.
Additional Requirements
  • Full driving licence.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to deliver efficient, high‑quality service.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • ECS/CSCS or CCNSG competency card preferred (training available if needed).
