Job description
Overview

A newly created opportunity for a Field Service Engineer in the West Yorkshire region, covering the Wakefield to Doncaster area. The role offers competitive compensation plus real earning potential, with an OTE of £45,000 to £50,000 a year, including additional payments and an annual bonus. A new transit van and personal vehicle usage are provided, along with comprehensive medical and life cover.

Responsibilities

As a Field Service Engineer you will:

  • Serve a wide range of material handling equipment from pallet trucks to automated systems.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out preventive maintenance to keep equipment operational.
  • Ensure customers receive top‑tier service and support.
  • Repair and maintain industrial, agricultural and warehousing trucks and ancillary equipment.
  • Record all damage, faults, and maintenance work accurately on the required documentation.
  • Complete servicing sheets, breakdown reports, accident reports, timesheets and quotes in a timely fashion.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team, informing them of potential leads and participating in site surveys and meetings as required.
Qualifications

The position requires an experienced engineer from the forklift or MHE industry, or from agricultural, roadside recovery or plant maintenance, with a Level 2 qualification.

  • Proficient in reading electrical and IC truck wiring diagrams.
  • Able to strip and reassemble hydraulic valve banks, cylinders and gear pumps.
  • Capable of interpreting test data for main, forward/reverse clutch, torque converter pressure and performing a full stall test.
