Job summary

abtec Managed IT is seeking a hands-on 2nd line IT engineer who thrives on real-world problem solving. After ramping up, you'll split your time between client sites across the Northwest and our modern Pavilion West office, supporting Microsoft 365, Azure, and on-premise infrastructure.

You’ll own incidents end-to-end, contribute to projects, mentor newer colleagues, and keep documentation sharp. A full UK driving licence and a proactive, customer-focused approach are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years in a genuine 2nd line support role.
• Hands-on M365, Azure, and Active Directory experience.
• MSP background OR experience as solo or small-team IT in a busy company.
• Comfortable in a field environment with on-site work across multiple sites.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Windows Server, networking and standard infrastructure experience.
• Ownership mindset to drive problems to resolution.

Responsibilities

• Handle 2nd line tickets and resolve complex issues.
• IMACs across client sites: installs, moves, changes.
• Lead infrastructure projects from start to finish.
• Manage ITSM system and maintain sharp documentation.
• Mentor newer team members as you grow into the role.
