Job summary

RES Limited in East England is seeking a field-based Technical Sales Engineer to deliver client-focused heat pump solutions. You will conduct site surveys, design systems, cost quotations, and manage handovers, while supporting installers on technical issues.

The role requires a consultative approach, strong knowledge of heat pump technology and MCS compliance, and willingness to travel in the East London/Ipswich area. A company car and competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Plumbing & Heating.
• LCL/BPEC Heat Pump Design & Installation qualification.
• G3 Unvented Hot Water, WRAS and MCS standards knowledge.
• Proven experience in low-temperature hydraulic design and electrical fault‑finding.
• Consultative mindset translating technical data for non‑technical customers.
• Based in/around East London or Ipswich with travel willingness and overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical site surveys, agree system specs with installers/homeowners, produce on-site quotations, commission ASHP systems, complete handovers and resolve issues via remedial visits.
• Produce room-by-room heat loss calculations, system designs and performance assessments using company tools, and compile proposals and quotations for the sales team; maintain CRM records.
• Act as Nominated Technical Supervisor for regional MCS projects to ensure installations meet MCS standards and Building Regulations.
• Provide phone-based and remote technical support, maintain relationships with installers, and be a consistent technical contact.
