Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to service and maintain plant equipment across the Mole & Wey Area. The role requires inspecting, diagnosing faults, testing, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems with minimal supervision to keep sites operational for customers.

You will work on pumps, 3‑phase motors, VSDs, PLCs, and associated control gear, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have electrical apprenticeship or equivalent
• Experience inspecting, maintaining, fault diagnosing, testing, installing, modifying or repairing mechanical and electrical plant equipment
• Able to travel across treatment sites within Mole & Wey Area and across multiple sites

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment
• Investigate plant failures and perform rapid repairs
• Provide technical advice and training to trainees as required
• Work with pumps, motors, valves, control gear and PLCs
• Participate in standby rota as needed
