Job summary

Thames Water is recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical Technician for Slough STW. You will inspect, maintain, diagnose faults and repair mechanical and electrical plant, ensuring site operations remain uninterrupted for customers.

Role involves working on pumps, motors, PLCs, VSDs, valves, dosing equipment, and providing technical support and training. Includes standby duties and a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems.
• Upskilled with a mechanical qualification to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair equipment.
• Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are crucial.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Investigate plant faults and carry out repairs to minimise interruptions to the process.
• Provide technical advice and training/support for technical trainees if required.
• Work on pumps, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, VSDs and PLCs, valves and dosing equipment.
• Participate in standby rota following relevant training.
