Job summary

Thames Water in the Thames Valley North region (including Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Marlow and Oxford) is seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Technician to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment.

You will work with minimal supervision to keep sites operational, participate in a standby rota, and benefit from annual leave, pension and a range of health and wellbeing benefits.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprentice with significant electrical systems experience in a true multi-skilled capacity.
• Upskilled with mechanical qualification to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose and repair equipment safely.
• A valid driving license is essential.
• Willing to undertake required training and upskilling as needed.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment per company procedures.
• Investigate plant failures and carry out rapid repairs to avoid process interruptions.
• Provide technical advice and training support for technical trainees when required.
• Work on pumps, control gear, 3-phase motors, starters, VSDs, valves, and PLCs.
• Participate in standby rota following relevant training.
