Job summary

Thames Water is recruiting a Mechanical & Electrical Technician for our Ring Mains at Merton Wells. You will inspect, maintain, diagnose faults, test, install, modify or repair mechanical and electrical plant to keep sites operational.

The role requires experience from an electrical apprenticeship with up-skilling in mechanical NVQ, driving licence, and a pro-active approach to health and safety. Excellent benefits and a competitive salary await.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship with significant electrical experience.
• Up-skilled with mechanical qualification for inspecting, maintaining and repairing plant equipment.
• Open to developing dual-skilled status for those with mechanical or electrical background.
• Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues is crucial.
• Must have a valid driving license; company provides vehicle and tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment to minimise plant breakdowns.
• Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs quickly to avoid process interruptions.
• Provide technical advice and training for technical trainees as required.
• Work on pumps, control gear, motors, VSDs, valves, sensors and PLCs.
