Job summary

Westwood Recruitment is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new business in the commercial waste sector. This field-based role involves meeting decision-makers, generating opportunities and winning contracts across your territory.

You will build and manage your own pipeline, convert leads, present quotations, and work with internal teams to ensure smooth handovers. A driving licence and a proactive, target-driven approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in new business or field-based sales.
• Able to build a pipeline and generate opportunities.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Willing to travel across the UK and hold a full UK driving licence.
• Experience in waste management or related B2B services is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business and win commercial waste contracts.
• Build and manage your own sales pipeline.
• Prospect for new customers via self-generated leads, networking, referrals and research.
• Book and attend face-to-face meetings with potential customers.
• Speak with decision-makers and identify opportunities.
• Prepare quotations and proposals; negotiate and close new business.
• Manage the sales process from first contact to signed agreement.
• Coordinate with internal teams for smooth handover of new business.
• Aim to meet and exceed sales targets.
