Job summary

Westwood Recruitment is seeking a Business Development Manager for a growing commercial waste business. This field-based role focuses on bringing in new customers, building your own pipeline and managing opportunities from first contact to signed contracts.

You’ll generate leads, meet decision-makers, and develop a strong local network. Basic salary £32,000–£35,000 with uncapped commission and an OTE of £50,000+; a company car is included.

Qualifications

• Experience in new business or field-based sales is preferred.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business and win commercial waste contracts.
• Build and manage your sales pipeline.
• Prospect for new customers via self-generated leads, networking, referrals and research.
• Book and attend face-to-face meetings with potential customers.
• Speak with decision-makers and identify opportunities.
• Put together quotations and proposals.
• Negotiate and close new business.
• Manage the sales process from initial contact through to signed agreement.
• Coordinate with internal teams for smooth handover after securing new business.
• Work towards and exceed sales targets.
